Pumulani is situated on the west side of Nankumba Peninsula at the southern end of Lake Malawi - romantically called the “Lake of Stars”. Overlooking both the lake and exclusively nestled within the Lake Malawi National Park, Pumulani has total seclusion and privacy. The ten villas are scattered amongst the boulders and trees on the hillside and have cooling grass on the roofs. Pumulani, the leading star of the lake, is the perfect place to relax.

Mvuu Camp is sited on the banks of the Shire river downstream from the Mvuu Lodge. There’s a restaurant, a camping site, children’s playground and large swimming pool. Mvuu Camp is ideal for those on a family holiday or a budget. Game viewing is available in safari 4x4 vehicles, on foot or from a boat on the river. The unspoilt nature on Liwonde National Park is one of its great attractions. It has been referred to as ‘another Eden’.

Mvuu Wilderness Lodge is situated in Liwonde National Park, Malawi’s premier game viewing national park. It has been described as ‘another Eden’. A diversity of animals includes large numbers of elephant, sable antelope, impala and waterbuck as well as black rhino, serval and leopard. The Shire river runs alongside the lodge guaranteeing viewing of some of the highest densities of hippo in Africa (‘mvuu’ means hippo) and some very large crocodiles.

 The Mount Soche has regularly been chosen to host Heads of State visiting Malawi. It occupies a central position in Malawi’s commercial capital yet its wooded grounds include an attractive tropical garden and swimming pool with wonderful views towards the Ndirande Mountains. The Mount Soche makes an excellent base for the business visitor and a very convenient ‘home’ for the tourist wanting to explore southern Malawi. 

Sunbird Ku Chawe enjoys one of the most amazing sites of any hotel in Africa. Set on the very edge of the great Zomba Plateau, a table-top mountain of 6000 ft/2000 m rising above the old capital of Malawi, Zomba town, it has its own micro-climate and a huge bio-diversity. Ku Chawe is imaginatively designed, built with handmade bricks incorporating fine arches throughout the public areas. Neat gardens spill down the mountain side.

Nyala Lodge provides first-class accommodation in Lengwe, one of Malawi’s most accessible national parks. Situated in the Lower Shire Valley, this 350 sq mile/900 sq km sanctuary is only about an hour’s drive south from Blantyre along good roads with amazing views over the valley. Day visitors are also welcome. Nyala Lodge has strong community links. Visits are arranged to a local village where guests experience a traditional cultural evening.

Domwe Island is the Lake Malawi National Park’s wildest island. Its ancient forest supports several species of mammals and numerous birds, while the surrounding waters are home to over five hundred species of cichlid tropical fish. Domwe Island has never been populated and is still in a pristine natural state. The island is ideal for active guests and those that love observing nature.
