Booking Conditions
A valid drivers licence is required to hire vehicles in Malawi. This licence should be carried with you at all times when driving as there are frequent police checks where you will need to produce your licence.
A 20 % deposit is needed to secure your vehicle in advance. The balance of payment and the refundable excess amount is due on, or before, the hire period. Please contact us for payment options.Rental Costs
Saloon vehicle US$ 90 per day - Excess US$ 1800.00 & 0.40c per km
4 X 4 Station Wagon US$ 180 per day - Excess US$ 4500.00 & 0.75c per km
4 X 4 Fully Kitted US$ 210 per day - Excess US$ 5000.00 & 0.75c per km
Rentals Include:
* 150 km free per day
* Malawi 3rd party Insurance Cover.
* Cleaning fee.
4 X 4 fully kitted - * Camping Equipment as per list.
* Briefing on all aspects the vehicle & equipment.
Rentals Exclude:
* Fuel – your vehicle will be supplied with a full tank of fuel and you must return it with a full tank of fuel.
* One way rental fees: - this will be quoted separately according to requirement.
* Cross border carbon taxes, insurances and fees as applicable.
* Food supplies – basic supplies can be bought for you on request – cost $ 100

When picking up your vehicle you will have to complete and sign a rental agreement. The rental is subject to this agreement which is subject to change without prior notice.
* Fuel – your vehicle will be supplied with a full tank of fuel and you must return it with a full tank of fuel.
* One way rental fees: - this will be quoted separately according to requirement.
* Cross border carbon taxes, insurances and fees as applicable.
* Food supplies – basic supplies can be bought for you on request – cost $ 100

RENTAL DURATION
When calculating the number of days, the day of collection is counted as day one of the rental regardless of collection time. The day of return is counted as the final day.
HOURS FOR PICK-UP & DROP-OFF
Monday - Friday: 08:00 - 17:00
Saturday / Sunday / Public Holidays: 08:00 - 13:00.
INSURANCE OPTIONS
Excess and 90 % Insurance Policy:
The vehicle is hired inclusive 90% insurance cover.
The Excess for a saloon vehicle is US $ 1800.00
The Excess for a 4 X 4 vehicle excluding equipment is US $ 4500
The Excess for a 4 X 4 vehicle including equipment is US $ 5000
Your liability in case of own, or third party damage, is limited to this excess amount or part thereof.
The insurance therefore only covers amounts over and above the stated EXCESS. Any claims under this excess are for your account and will be deducted from your refundable excess.
The insurance does not cover damages to tires and the windscreen, vehicle recovery in case of damage, items lost or stolen (including radio/cd/cassette).
Personal or medical insurance is not covered in this hire agreement
EXCLUSIONS
The hirer will be fully liable for any damage to the rental vehicle or third party vehicle / property if:
♦ The terms of this rental contract is breached.
♦ Damage to the vehicle is caused by careless, willful or reckless driving.
♦ Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
♦ Driving on restricted roads.
♦ Water submersion damage is caused.
♦ The vehicle is driven outside specified countries without permission.
In case of any damage to a third party vehicle / property - a second excess will be collected to cover the excess for any subsequent damage
INFRINGEMENTS
The right is reserved to charge for any speeding or parking fines, associated administration costs and / or accidents including third party vehicle / property damage not reported on the return of the vehicle. All accidents are to be reported to the Police within 24 hours costs associated with are for the hirers account. Failing this all insurance cover becomes void and the Hirer becomes fully liable for all costs.
LICENCE
A valid - non-endorsed driver's license is required - international license is preferred.
MINIMUM AGE
Drivers must be 25 years or older.
ROAD RESTRICTIONS
Prior to the hire your route must be submitted to the office. The office must be told of any major variations to your route prior to you setting off on it. Major variations may incur a surcharge if it is felt that the vehicle will incur damage.
REPAIRS
Minor repair up to a limit of US $ 100 may be affected without authorization and will be reimbursed ONLY upon presentation of receipts. If the repairs are estimated to be over US $ 100, then we need to be contacted for approval.
CHANGE OF VEHICLE
The right is reserved to substitute a comparable or superior vehicle should the requested vehicle not be available due to unforeseen circumstances. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the hirer to any refund.
CANCELLATION FEES
♦ If cancelled 25 days prior to pick-up = No charge
♦ If cancelled 24 days to 7 days prior to pick-up = 15% of hire fee
♦ If cancelled 5 days to 0 days (no show) = 50% of hire fee
♦ If vehicle is returned early for any reason = no refund
