The Lilongwe Nature Sanctuary and Wildlife Centre offer superb riverine habitat for Schalow’s Turaco,
Hildeblandt’s Francolin, African Broadbill, Red throated twinspot, White-backed Night Heron, Half-collared Kingfisher, African Broadbill, Black-throated Wattle-eye, Mountain Wagtail, Golden Weaver, Red Backed Mannikin, Brown Crowned Tchagra, long tailed Wagtail and Golden Weaver.
Itinerary
06.30 to 09.00 or 15.00 to 17.30 - We collect you from your hotel / residence and take you to the Lilongwe Nature Sanctuary [Government side]. Follow one of the numerous trails through the endemic Brachystegia trees to the river, then follow along this path. Stop for Tea / Coffee and a delicious muffin at a suitable spot.
Return to the vehicle at about 08.45 and you will be dropped back at your hotel by 9 am.
