Duration: 8 Nights / 9 days
Minimum: 4 people needed to confirm this departure any day of the week.
Day 1: - Meet at the Land and Lake Office at 0830 in the morning. [A free collection service is offered to clients in Lilongwe]. Depart Lilongwe at approx 0900. Continue to Mchinji. [1&1/2 hr drive] Here we complete immigration formalities and continue to Mwami - [the Zambian border]. From the border it is a short drive to Chipata - Zambia's capital of the Eastern Province. Proceed on a dirt road to Luangwa Valley - Mfuwe sector. A picnic lunch is enjoyed en route and ETA at the Lodge is mid afternoon. On arrival and after checking in, we enjoy tea and coffee along the rivers edge. Evening dinner
Day 2 & 3: - Tea, coffee and a light snack follow an early morning wake up call. Our aim is to be on our first game drive by 6.15 am. Game drives are done in open safari vehicles, to optimise your pleasure and experience. Drinks and snacks are taken along for your enjoyment whilst in the park. Depending on game sightings, we return to the lodge at 11 for a scrumptious "brunch". An afternoon rest then we again head out for our afternoon drive at around 1600 - returning to the lodge at 2000. Evening Dinner [Night drive – Luangwa is renowned for the night drives and this is INCLUDED in your safari. - a powerful spotlight is used to spot nocturnal creatures that frequent this habitat.]
Day 4: - After breakfast, join the transfer vehicle back to Chipata, on arrival in Chipata, your transfer vehicle to Lusaka will be waiting for you and you continue to Lusaka. Arrival in Lusaka is late afternoon and this is dependent on the road conditions. On arrival we check into our chalets at Pioneer Camp. Evening dinner.
Day 5: - After breakfast we continue through Lusaka, over the Kafue River to Victoria Falls. ETA in Livingstone is mid afternoon and again reliant on current road conditions. Check into our well appointed and furnished twin rooms in The ZAMBEZI WATERFRONT complex. A visit to Victoria Falls is included today if time allows – if not then this is done the following morning. Spend the remainder of the afternoon viewing the falls and following the numerous trails in the area. Return to the hotel & evening dinner [Driving time – approx 8 hrs]
Day 6 & 7: - These 2 days are open for you to experience the numerous activities and options that have established this area as the "Adrenaline Capital of Africa". Only your breakfast is included and you have the days free to pursue the activity of your choice. River cruises, game drives, visit to Livingstone museum, cultural village tours, white water rafting, jet boating, canoeing, river boarding, micro lighting, helicopter flips, bungi-jumping, horseback and elephant safaris, fishing and day trips to Chobe Game park in Botswana are all readily available and organised on site at the hotel. Your guide is on hand throughout your stay to help you if needed.
Day 8: - After breakfast, we depart back to Lusaka. A leisurely drive brings us to Pioneer camp mid afternoon. Overnight at Pioneer Camp in chalets. Dinner is included. [Driving time – approx 8 hrs]
Day 9: - After breakfast, we return to Lilongwe. Picnic lunch en route ETA in Lilongwe is late afternoon. [Driving time – approx 10 hrs]

Luangwa Valley - 9050 sq km of pristine woodland and riverine vegetation plays host to over 40 mammal and 650 bird species. The South Luangwa has been described as the premier park in Africa foremost for the variety of species seen when visiting. A visit to Malawi and Zambia would be totally incomplete without experiencing the sheer magnitude and delight of this unique area.
The Wildlife Camp in Luangwa offers comfortable budget accommodation in their permanent tented camp. On this safari, clients stay in the en suite tents and all meals are taken in their main restaurant which is a short distance away from the camp.
Victoria Falls needs no introduction – as one of the 7 natural wonders of the world, it is perhaps the most visited site in Southern Africa and hence leisure facilities and opportunities abound. The sight of millions of liters of water gushing into a huge chasm creating the famous “smoke that thunders” is a sight that has inspired and enthralled visitors for a century already.
The Zambezi Waterfront Village has well appointed chalets set is spacious grounds. There are 2 swimming pools situated near the bar, BBQ and auditorium. Stunning Zambezi sunsets can be enjoyed from the entertainment complex or the restaurant area. The accommodation site has communal ablution facilities.
There is absolutely no problem traveling as a single woman. You are always part of a group and looked after by a qualified Land and Lake Guide throughout the entire trip
