Day 1 – Depart Lilongwe and drive to Liwonde National Park [3 ½ hrs]. Arrive into the Park and it’s a short drive to a car park from which we access Mvuu Camp. A boat collects us and we transfer across the river to Mvuu Camp. Arrival at Mvuu Camp is before lunch. Check into your chalets. The afternoon is spent on a game drive, returning at night. Overnight Mvuu Camp on full board basis inclusive game viewing activities.

 [Day 2 – A choice of a morning game walk, boat safari or drive is offered, returning to camp for a delicious brunch – rest then a choice of afternoon activities. Your stay is all inclusive game activities and all meals with tea and coffees.]

Day 2 [3] Morning boat safari, then we depart Mvuu and return back to Lilongwe. Departure time is 1100. A picnic lunch is eaten en route and ETA in the city is 1500. A free drop off service is offered in Lilongwe. Breakfast & Lunch

Included: All transport Lilongwe return, 1 [2] night accom at Mvuu Camp on full board inclusive game activities basis.

Excluded: Drinks

Liwonde Park is one of the most atmospheric reserves in Africa, dominated by the palm fringed, crocodile and hippo infested waters of the Shire River. An estimated 900 elephants, some 4000 hippos, 600 sable antelope and recently introduced breeding groups of Zebra, Hartebeest and rhino are resident in the park.

Just outside the park gates, near Mvuu is a school that the lodge supports  visit them, by bike meet the children and see the excellent community work being done. Always first be mindful that you should greet before asking questions.
