Persons: Minimum 2 - Depart any day of the week, subject to availability
Day 1: - Meet at the Land and Lake Office at 0830 in the morning. [A free collection service is offered to clients in Lilongwe]. Depart Lilongwe at 0900. Continue to Mchinji. [1&1/2 hr drive] Here we complete immigration formalities
and continue to Mwami - [the Zambian border]. From the border it is a short drive to Chipata - Zambia's capital of the Eastern Province. Proceed on a dirt road to Luangwa Valley - Mfuwe sector. A picnic lunch is enjoyed en route and
ETA at the Lodge is mid afternoon. Arrive at Thornicroft and check into our comfortable safari style chalets. Dinner.
Day 2: - Early morning refreshments, then we depart for a short drive [or canoe crossing of the river] and on our morning game drive or possible walking safari (seasonal). Tea, coffee and a light snack are taken with for your enjoyment whilst in the park. Depending on routing and game sightings, we return to the lodge at 11 for a delicious "brunch". An afternoon rest then out again for our afternoon / night game drive. The game drive is undertaken in open game viewing vehicle, to optimise your pleasure and experience and a powerful spotlight is used to spot the nocturnal animals. Return to the lodge for evening Dinner.
Day 3: -. A more leisurely morning then a return transfer back to Lilongwe departing at 09H00. A picnic lunch is eaten en route and ETA in the city is 1500. A free drop off service is offered in Lilongwe

Luangwa Valley - 9050 sq km of pristine woodland and riverine vegetation plays host to over 40 mammal and 650 bird species. The South Luangwa has been described as the premier park in Africa foremost for the variety of species seen when visiting. A visit to Malawi and Zambia would be totally incomplete without experiencing the sheer magnitude and delight of this unique area.
Thornicroft – This newly built Lodge is situated on the banks of the Luangwa River overlooking the National Park. The lodge offers luxurious accommodation in double canvass and stone, en suite chalets each with their own private verandah. Each room has been carefully positioned to afford guests an excellent view of the river and park and the attention to detail in each chalet makes them unique and quite luxurious. Drives and walks are led by qualified professionals who enhance your experience and pleasure.
