Day 1: Arrive in Lilongwe. On Arrival at the Lilongwe international airport you will be collected and transferred to the Guest House. You can spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight at the Guest House on dinner bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2: Today we prepare for the project - your payment includes a contribution to the project and this fee will be handed over to you and you are liable to purchase project materials to this amount. The project coordinator will indicate what is needed. EXCESS purchases are for your own account. Once all materials, equipment and supplies have been purchased, your transport will take you out to the project site.
Here you will stay in the comfortable Dzalanyama Forest Lodge, where a resident cook will look after you.
The area is renowned for its excellent bird life and at times small antelope are seen.
Day 3 – 7: Start on project work. The main project for 2009 is to build a house for the headmaster, other smaller projects include repairing and repainting the school, maintaining Boys and Girls dormitory; helping students, planting a vegetable garden and doing some environmental education work with the members of the wildlife club.
Day 8: A transfer to the airport in time to catch their International flight.
Included: All transport Lilongwe return including vehicle support [pickup] whilst on project, all meals as indicated.
Excluded: Drinks, visa fees [if applicable], international flights, travel insurance.
