Area:- Zambia - W of Lilongwe in the Eastern Province of Zambia.
Duration:- 10 Nights / 11 Days

Interest:- Game viewing by vehicle and on foot.
Day 1: - Meet at the Land and
Lake Office at 0830 in the morning. Depart Lilongwe & continue to
Mchinji and onto a dirt road to Luangwa Valley - Mfuwe sector. A picnic
lunch is enjoyed en route and ETA at the Lodge is 2.30pm. On arrival we
check into our chalets followed by tea and coffee. A night drive is
offered returning at 20H00 for dinner
Day 2 : - After a light snack with tea & coffee we depart for a morning drive at 06H00. All game drives are undertaken in open game viewing vehicles,
to optimise your pleasure and experience. Drinks and snacks are taken
along for your enjoyment whilst in the park. Depending on game
sightings, we return to the lodge at 11 for a scrumptious "brunch".
Afternoon at leisure or swimming, prior to your afternoon / night
drive. Return for dinner
Day 3 & 4: - After
breakfast, we drive to the unique Island Bush Camp 2 hrs South of
Kafunta, where we will spend our next 2 nights. Days here start with
early morning refreshments then a walking safari, rest back at camp,
then an afternoon walking safari. Tea, coffee and a light snack are
taken with for your enjoyment whilst on walks. Depending on routing and
game sightings, we return to the lodge at 11 for a delicious "brunch".
An afternoon rest followed by another walk to a different area followed
by dinner.
Day 5 : - Depart Island camp
through villages and the Nsefu sector to Luambe NP. The entire drive is
through game rich areas and is really an extended game drive. Picnic
lunch en route then we arrive in Luambe NP mid afternoon. Overnight
Luambe Wilderness Lodge.
Day 6: - Another day traveling
through game rich areas and crossing over to the west bank of the
Luangwa River. Arrival at Buffalo Camp is around midday with time to
relax in the afternoon. A night drive is offered to those that wish.
Day 7& 8:- N. Luangwa is
incredible for game walks and this is the preferred mode of viewing
game in the area. The days are spent walking, relaxing and enjoying 3
wholesome meals daily. Night drives are also offered.
Day 9:- After breakfast we drive back the same route to South Luangwa. ETA at Kafunta is around 5 pm. Overnight Kafunta Lodge.
Day 10 : - Morning and afternoon / night drives. Overnight Kafunta River Lodge
Day 11:- An easy start to the
day then pack up and return back to Lilongwe via the popular tribal
textiles craft shop. A picnic lunch is eaten en route and ETA in
the city is 1500.

South Luangwa Valley -
9050 sq km of pristine woodland and riverine vegetation plays host to
over 40 mammal and 650 bird species. The South Luangwa has been
described as the premier park in Africa.
North Luangwa Valley
- Until very recently this park was inaccessible and off limits to
visitors, being a research center only. The great attraction is the
numerous lion prides, vast herds of Buffalo and Wildebeest in the area.
This is Africa in its rawest sense.
Kafunta River Lodge
Comfortable en suite accommodation in thatched chalets raised on stilts
with their own private veranda, bar fridge, fan, walk in mosquito nets,
hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities.
Island Camp
is set on an Island in the Luangwa river south of Kafunta. Each chalet
has a sitting area with view over the, is en suite with running water,
basin, flush toilet and a traditional bucket shower.
Luambe Wilderness Lodge en suite tented chalets and set overlooking a large lagoon with numerous resident crocodile & hippos.
Buffalo Camp
- One of 3 camps allowed to operate in N Luangwa, this rustic camp
overlooks the Mwaleshi River. The seasonal grass chalets, have secluded
open-air toilet and showers.
