4X4 HILUX

All our vehicles come with unlimited mileage, 90%insurance coverage with just a 10% excess, 100% 3rd party coverage within Malawi and up to 2 drivers per vehicle over the age of 25.

Standard insurance applies for the vehicle you'll be driving. You are not responsible for the assisted vehicles insurance.

TAKE THE WHEEL

All our vehicles are on and off-hired from our offices in Lilongwe, Area 3, Old town. Any on or off-hires outside of these premises must be agreed upon in advance and may come at an additional charge. All Land and Lake Vehicles are able to cross borders - Any Land and Lake vehicles crossing borders must be agreed upon in advance and the required paperwork submitted prior to your arrival. 

We charge additional Geographical Insurance Extension of $15.00 per day outside of Malawi.

Your assisted vehicle will be equipped with everything else!

Chairs, Tables, Table Cloths, Crockery & Cook Ware. You'll be followed by an experienced guide and a camp chef for your journey so you don't need to worry about setting up or taking down camp, you don't have to think about the food or even the logistics. You can jump in your own vehicle and explore at your leisure and return to camp for a hearty meal. Your guide is on hand for guided walks and game drives/ driving assistance in remote areas. 

Vehicles driven by a Land and Lake member of staff include full insurance coverage so the second vehicle is 100% covered during your travels.

You have two options for an assisted self-drive. 

Land & Lake Safaris can develop your itinerary and include all your food, game park entrance fees, vehicle fees and fuel for both vehicles so you do not need to worry about this on your journey.

Additionally you can wing it, include your own food, fuel and vehicle fees during the journey and pay for the additional vehicles and staff accompaniment. You can either give this money directly to the guide of the second vehicle or pay as you go.

Our team offers 24hr emergency support during your travels - However the further you are from Lilongwe, the longer this may take to assist you. That's what adventure is all about! - Our vehicles operate on a 2 year rotation to ensure that you always have quality over quantity. 

On arrival you will receive a comprehensive vehicle hire contract that must be signed before on-hire. Drivers must submit their credit card details and a working phone number for Malawi. 

Land and Lake Safaris adds you to a group Whatsapp during your travels for assistance. This is connected to the Director, Operations Manager, Mechanic and Consultants who can assist you with troubleshooting.

Each vehicle has a "User Manual" that also explains in detail how to troubleshoot any equipment, engage in 4 wheel drive, change oils, fuses and more.
